Chewing Report

In the Chewing Report screen you can view the results of the test in two modalities: and . The first one, by default, shows the right and left side chewing test with the relative activities of the masticatory muscles that have contributed to the masticatory act.

Report fro ENG

The second one shows the anterior-posterior prevalence of right and left chewing, indicating a greater activation of the Temporalis muscles or Masseters on the working side, i.e., whether chewing took place predominantly in the frontal or posterior group.

In addition to the graphic representation, numerical indexes are calculated for the right and left chewing side.

Symmetrical Mastication Index (SMI)

Global index of neuromuscular coordination.

It is a single index, not differentiated by side.  The ideal value is 100%. The further from this value, the greater the masticatory incoordination.

Frequency (bps)

Number of chewing acts per second.

Temporalis Impact (%)

Index of muscular work performed by the Temporalis Anterior during the test.

Masseters Impact (%)

Index of muscular work performed by the Masseters during the test.

Working-Side Impact (%)

Muscular work of the right side (right Temporalis and right Masseter) and the left side (left Temporalis and left Masseter).
