Chewing Test

The Chewing Test measures the neuromuscular coordination during the masticatory activity.

  • To proceed with a new acquisition, from the Home screen of the software, select the desired patient. From the Patient screen, in the Test section, click on Chewing Test.

 

  • Insert the cotton rolls between the arches on the second premolars and molars

 

 

 

 

  • Ask the patient to clench their teeth as hard as possible

 

 

 

 



  • To start the Calibration, press the Rec button . The recording will stop automatically after five seconds

⚠️🚨Teethan's Calibration Test is mandatory and it is meant to adapt the technology to each and every patient's neuromuscular strategy of occlusion.

 

  • Once you have acquired the Chewing Calibration Test, click on to move onto the next step
  • After removing the cotton rolls, provide the patient with a piece of chewing gum and ask them to chew only on the right side. To start the recording, press the Rec button . The recording will stop automatically after 15 seconds.

  • Ask the patient to move the chewing gum to the left side and chew on the left side only. To start the Test click on the Rec button . The recording will stop automatically after 15 seconds.

During the test execution, the electrical activity of the analyzed muscles is displayed in real-time, using bars that get filled with color proportionally to the degree of muscular activation. Each of the four muscles is identified by a characteristic color:
